We have offices in Gatwick, Brighton and London, UK; Montpellier, France; Singapore and Chicago, US. In line with the Company’s current Agile Working Policy, the successful candidate can either work part of the week from our Chicago office and work remotely for the rest or the week or work remotely within the US.

Are you a skilled and experienced journalist in multi-media with a passion for the future of food? Can you execute daily content ideas and use a variety of platforms to engage audiences? Are you able to leverage your exceptional interpersonal and communications skills to represent a brand and build stakeholder relationships?
We are looking for a US Correspondent for FoodNavigator, the home of independent news, analysis and business-critical insights for senior executives, decision-makers, entrepreneurs and thought leaders in the global food and drink industry. The journalist will be responsible for producing daily written and multimedia content focused on innovation, investment and regulation to help business leaders navigate what’s new and what’s next.
The Correspondent will work closely with a passionate team of editors based in America as well as an ambitious international editorial team, helping to raise the brand’s profile and recognition through original reporting, interviews, features and attending industry events.
What you’ll be doing:
- Pitching, researching and creating compelling content based on core editorial themes, topics and business-critical insights to make FoodNavigator stand out from the competition and become a ‘must-read’ for the sector
- Delivering high-quality daily editorial content in multimedia and written formats, that is aligned with global editorial roadmap for the brand and covers key trends in agriculture, food technology, sustainability, innovation, consumer insights, corporate strategy and finance
- Closely collaborating with the wider editorial, multimedia and audience teams to ensure brand consistency and clear channels of communication and drive growth and engagement
- Developing strong industry contacts across the food, agriculture, R&D, manufacturing, investment and retail sectors.
- Attending and reporting from key food industry trade events, conferences and briefings
- Contributing to newsletters, podcasts, webinars and special reports, as well as brand extension activities, including in-person events and webinars.
- Playing a part in FoodNavigator’s social media strategy and contributing to reader and registrant growth
- Uploading content to the CMS and creating visuals for the website
Requirements
What you’ll need:
- Strong, imaginative journalist with a proven record of producing engaging and informative content and demonstrated experience in covering fast-paced, global developments
- Proficient in seamlessly switching between written articles and creating dynamic multimedia experiences, such as soundbite videos, infographics, and podcasts to effectively convey complex B2B concepts and ideas
- Brilliant news sense with a passion for, and industry knowledge of, the food and drink industry
- Experience covering food & drink, business or science topics, ideally at a B2B publication
- Good knowledge of social media channels, and the ability to leverage platforms to amplify content reach, engage audiences, and foster meaningful interactions
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills with self-drive and ability to work at pace to tight deadlines and independently, whilst also having a strong commitment to collaboration
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and presenting skills with a proactive approach to engaging and networking with both internal and external stakeholders
- Outstanding attention to detail
- An eye for captivating visuals; any experience with photo editing software is a plus
- Knowledge and experience of MS Office, CMS and digital content creation
- Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally to events
- Ability to have some flexibility in working hours to collaborate with colleagues in EMEA and APAC regions
