With nearly 1,400 people descending on Battersea and celebrities ranging from Jonathan Ross to Melanie Sykes, and a personal video appearance from David Beckham, the 26th Publican Awards 2017 proved to be a smash hit for The Morning Advertiser.
Held for the second year running in Battersea Evolution, the event built on the successes of last year’s 25th anniversary celebrations to deliver an even bigger and better event with increased guest numbers along with sponsors to match.
With 20 categories to get through, host Jonathan Ross did a first rate job of keeping the audience entertained, while a record was set by one competitor, New World Trading Company, which took a record breaking six awards on the night.
This event is a massive undertaking and I’d like to pay tribute to The MA team and the events team for ensuring everything came together on the night. This is a culmination of several months of hard work and we’re delighted with the result. Ed and his team of judges worked tirelessly in the run up to these, building on the number and quality of entries. The comments received on the night from finalists and winners about the credibility and robustness of our judging process was inspiring to hear and something we will look to build upon in 2018.
