We are looking for a QA Tester to conduct manual testing on a range of applications. You will know how to create a test plan, test cases, undertake the testing and produce reports against the defined test criteria. Experience of automated testing, Continuous Integration software (such as Jenkins) would be useful but not essential. Knowledge of Content Management Systems. Knowledge of PHP, HTML, Javascript would be beneficial.

You will be part of a Digital Development team, working across a number of projects including a major migration of one of our most used CMS systems, the testing of the implementation of a new Consent Management platform across our entire digital estate to start.

Some of the work will be to set up and test internal development and the rest of the workload will be to Quality Assure external supplier development.

You will be required to create, maintain and enhance automated testing suites to continually improve automated test coverage.

You will work with developers to improve unit and integration tests. Consistently improving quality through automated functional testing. Ensuring bugs/impediments are escalated and long-term solutions are pursued.

You will ensure the team delivers functionality that is fit for purpose by reporting test automation metrics.

A strong communicator is essential.


The tester is a vital role in maintaining a high level of quality through the development life-cycle. Your key responsibility is to ensure that our internal development delivers accurately against the agreed Product Backlog/ Specification ensuring that Jira is up to date.

During each development iteration, you will be working with the Product Owner and Technical lead to define test cases and then testing the code produced in that iteration. You will also be responsible for developing regression test scripts in cross browser, multi device environments – at times working closely with the 3rd party supplier test manager.

Role Responsibilities

· Lead: Accurately test and report against user stories and manage 3rd suppliers

· Recommend: Communicate clearly what bug or change is found and what is required for improvement

· Collaborate: Achieve buy in from the supplier development and test team and with internal stakeholders.

· Communicate: Disseminate relevant information to project team and management teams.

· Quality: Promote the best use of tools and process and promote accurate closure of tickets

Role Capabilities

· Extensive experience of manual and tool-driven testing in a web application environment

· Detailed understanding of testing across multiple browsers and devices (desktop, tablet, mobile)

· Detailed understanding of the impact of different screen resolutions on the user experience

· Track record of working with Product (Business) Owners and deriving test cases from Acceptance Criteria and / or detailed specification documents

· Track record of producing clear test reports and maintaining records to show the number and severity of bugs being raised and closed

· Experience of using tools such as Selenium to record test scripts to automate feature- and regression-testing
