Position
Location: London / Hybrid
We’ve created an exciting new role reporting into the editor-in-chief, working within our experienced editorial team of editors and reporters across news, features and production.
The Intelligence and Insights Editor will be responsible for planning and creating content that interprets industry retail trends and data and turns this into must-read, essential intelligence and insight – be that data-led news, analysis, rankings or opinion.
With a particular focus on technology and innovation, the content will provide essential reading for senior leaders in retail. Whether grounded in data or based on case studies and industry perspectives, this person will be responsible for planning and creating compelling content that offers solutions, guides investment decisions and strategic thinking, and offers fresh perspectives on how to ensure retail businesses thrive.
Launched more than 30 years ago, Retail Week is one of the most exciting and dynamic B2B media brands, read and respected by the most influential business leaders in UK retail. We create must-read, premium subscription content for some of the UK’s most influential business leaders and their teams, within an industry worth more than £100bn to the UK economy.
Retail Week creates digital news, features, analysis, insight and reports across all sectors including fashion, grocery, health and beauty, sports and leisure and homewares.
Requirements
- A keen interest in future trends, from consumer behaviour to technology
- A brilliant writer and editor who loves building new senior industry contacts in retail and among the innovative partners that support the industry
- A strategic content thinker who can devise a content plan to deliver on objectives
- Ability to seek out interesting and dynamic data partners for content creation
- Ability to analyse and interpret data to create unique, must-read content
- Data visualisation skills valued not essential
- A keen interest in future trends and what’s on the horizon, and an ability to interpret this for a target audience
- A creative thinker with a skill for writing headlines and sells that grab attention
- An understanding of how to drive content engagement and create noise across all platforms, including social media.
