Position

The Grocer, the UK’s biggest and most interesting trade publication, is looking for a features editor to manage its food and drink reports.

These reports provide vital information to the UK’s £220bn grocery sector on all the leading grocery categories – from alcoholic drinks, bagged snacks and cereals, to ready meals, soups and yoghurts, as well as health & beauty items, household goods, e-cigarettes and more.

It’s a fascinating time to be covering the food and drink industry, with the cost of living crisis, climate change, technological advances and Brexit (among others) having a huge and varied impact

In this important role, we combine reporting and investigation on key consumer trends, supplier news and retail insights with invaluable proprietary and third-party sales data, making the reports highly valued by giant supermarket and entrepreneurial startup suppliers alike.

As part of a big and award-winning team of journalists, the role will provide scope to also write news, conduct interviews, etc, with on-the-job training and support to help you develop your career!

Requirements

The successful candidate will need;

  • Extensive & demonstrable experience in writing, commissioning and editing features/long reads
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Numerate and detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills
