Position

The Grocer is the award-winning flagship of the highly successful William Reed group, a family-owned business whose interests span diverse content, events, exhibitions and market research, with operations in the UK, France, the US and the Far East.

The Grocer is looking for an editor to manage the day-to-day operations and develop the strategy for its fast-growing website and wider digital output, helping to steer the UK’s biggest, most interesting and most widely respected B2B title through its continued transformation into a multi-media powerbrand

The successful applicant will be joining at an exciting time, as The Grocer is expanding its editorial team again to support the development of new content and new channels.

Requirements

We’re looking for an outstanding business journalist, who is organised, fast, and creative, with strong knowledge of digital trends, developments and tools and good people management and training skills. You’ll also need experience in commissioning, editing and promoting all forms of digital output (ie including video, podcasts and social media).

Knowledge of retail, food and drink, fast moving consumer goods, and all the myriad issues and topics The Grocer covers – the economy, health & obesity, food safety, entrepreneurship, online shopping, sustainability, technology, npd, shopper insights, sourcing and food security, pay & remuneration, commodities – is not essential, but will clearly be welcome.

We have offices in Gatwick and London, UK; Montpellier, France; Singapore and Chicago, US. In line with the Company’s current Agile Working Policy, the successful candidate would be eligible to work part of the week from our Crawley office and to work remotely for the rest of the week.
