Food Vision Asia 2017 16.05.2017 - Natalie Fernley

Food Vision Asia 2017 puts spotlight on innovation, education and responsible nutrition as Asia’s battle with obesity escalates.

Bringing together more than 140 participants from across the region, the Food Vision Asia community called on the food industry to take a stand for responsible nutrition as the region’s battle against obesity and related metabolic diseases escalates.

The event was chaired by Gary Scattergood, Editor-in-Chief, FoodNavigator-Asia and NutraIngredients-Asia, and this year’s stellar speaker line-up included astronaut Dato’Sheikh Muszapahar Shukor Al Masrie, the first Malaysian to go into space; and rising star politician, Senior Minister of State for Health Mr Chee Hong Tat, who shared Singapore’s Health Ministry’s approach to drive innovation in the healthier food space.

The needs of consumers are ever shifting. This has led to increasing pressure for industry player to continuously innovate to meet these demands. The Singapore government will support and work with the food industry in your innovation journey to shift the consumer market to healthier food.

Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State for Health

The extensive conference programme and daylong networking was complemented by experiential highlights such as a molecular popsicles tasting, a sunset cable-car ride and a Taiji session at dawn to awaken our spirits.
