Role overview

William Reed is actively seeking a strategic and commercially minded marketer to drive revenue from content across a range of our brands.

As Head of Paid Content Marketing you will be responsible for the development of marketing strategies and long-term, sustainable solutions for digital, print-based and combined products

Core responsibilities

  • Leading the development and implementation of paid content marketing strategies
  • Managing the circulation bureau and customer services and controlled circulation requirements
  • Managing and developing e-commerce capabilities
  • Taking a key role in the budgetary process for paid content and distribution
  • Leading the content marketing team and paid content sales resource to achieve optimum performance
  • Maximising customer retention and managing Lifetime Value of subscribers and members
  • Working closely and collaboratively with other Digital Marketing in-house specialists to develop holistic promotional activity that drives the audience marketing process

First published in 1862, The Grocer has long been the premier source of information for the food, drink and grocery market through the weekly magazine. More recently its online reach has enabled the brand to broaden its offering enabling the industry to respond more effectively to increasing challenges and opportunities.

Our other cutting-edge B2B brands include Restaurant Magazine, British Baker, The Morning Advertiser and Meat Trades Journal: all with growing digital elements

Required experience and skills

This senior role requires extensive high level experience including:

  • Previous experience working at a strategic level in terms of marketing and resource allocation
  • Commercial experience of budget management and target setting
  • IDM/CIM qualified
  • Substantial experience of subscription marketing techniques and management (order processing) systems and customer service provision
  • Proven record of implementing multi-channel marketing strategies for digital products
  • Experience of newstrade and distribution
  • Exceptional communicator and influencer
